Comparison of Gasoline and Diesel Generators

There are a lot of issues when comparing the total cost of diesel generator and gasoline generator. First, More expensive spare parts are used for diesel generator and it would be cost you more to repair when diesel generator break down. Normally, diesel generator is 3 times expensive than gasoline generator at the same level output. Second, we need to compare the fuel cost, diesel type usually cost a little more than gasoline type and both need some additive to maintain longer shelf life.



Diesel generator consume less fuel compare to gasoline generator. On the other hand, diesel generator is not easy broken as gasoline ones, the life is longer and less maintenance, but when repairs are needed, it cost more than gasoline generator. In the long run, diesel generator is more economics.
